July 10, 2019: Dead in Devon Signing Event

Dead in Devon is not a graphic novel but we were so intrigued by this crime thriller set around Ashburton that we asked local author Stephanie Austin to come to Gnash for a signing event.

Stephanie will be here on Wednesday July 10 7.30 to sign her new book and maybe give us a reading too.

Ticket price is redeemable against purchase of the book and there’s a free glass of wine thrown in. So come for a cosy evening talking Death in Devon, crime thrillers and more.

May 4, 2019: Free Comic Book Day 2019

Free comics! Free to come along! plus have fun making mini comics and meet the artists behind the best selling Skyward, Cabalistics and Fight the Power!

All on Saturday 4 May.

Make a mini comic session in the morning with Jessica Bradley (Phoenix Comic, Beano) Drop in session have some creative fun and meet the creator of Tiny Overlord!

In the afternoon there is a drop in session with Dom Reardon artist on “2000AD Cabalistic inc The complete Collection”, John Spelling artist on “Fight the Power “and Lee Garbett artist on “Skyward”. Meet the brilliant creators behind these iconic books plus you can get your copies personally signed!

Bring along a favourite book or comic that you have read, love & be prepared to let everyone know why you love it!

Swap your books with someone else’s pre-loved comic or book.

No money exchanges hands just a lot of graphic novel and comic loving & sharing!

Oct. 28, 2018: Manga Art Workshop

Keith 'Ato-Gami' Sparrow, author of many how-to-draw-manga books is coming to Gnash Comics on Sunday the 28th October from 2.30pm to 4.30pm to host one of his amazing workshops on creating Manga comic strips.

So join us for a great time to learn about drawing manga characters, from constructing a head and figure, to drawing action manga poses and devising a short graphic narrative sequence.

Suitable for children aged 8 and upwards right through to old adults! Everyone welcome!

All paper, pens etc are supplied by us so no need to bring anything. But if you want advice and support for any existing work do bring it along!

Numbers are limited to ensure that everyone gets plenty of one to one help and attention, so best to book ahead.
