April 21, 2018: Rick Leonardi SigningArtist Rick Leonardi appears at Best Comics on Saturday April 21st, 2018 from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM!
Rick Leonardi has been working in comics since the 1980’s. He began his career at Marvel Comics working on titles like Uncanny X-Men, New Mutants, Vision and Scarlet Witch, Rampaging Hulk, Cloak and Dagger, Amazing Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2099 and more! He is credited, along with fellow illustrator Mike Zeck, for designing Spider-Man’s black costume which Spidey wore during the original Secret Wars series and would eventually become the villain Venom! The costume began as a design by Zeck that Leonardi embellished. Rick’s work hasn’t been limited to Marvel Comics; he has worked for DC Comics and many other publishers. Rick has had notable runs on DC Comics titles like Nightwing, Batgirl, Vigilante, Birds of Prey and the intercompany crossover Green Lantern vs. Aliens! Leonardi’s work for other publishers includes drawing the Star Wars: General Grievous and Star Wars Darth Vader and the Lost Command mini-series as well as working on characters like Witchblade, Predator, and Painkiller Jain! Rick continues to work in comics with his art appearing on covers, in back up stories and most recently drawing the Booster Gold/Flintstones one shot and the Jack Kirby 100th Anniversary Sandman Special!
