Oct. 26, 2019: Tate’s Comics DayWay back in 2009, the mayor of Lauderhill proclaimed October 26th to be “Tate’s Comics Day”!
So henceforth we will honor it as if it was serious important day of our calendar year! ;-)

May 4, 2019: Free Comic Book Day 2019There will be FREE comics for everyone at both of our locations! With many different Free Comic Book Day titles for you to choose from, this event is great for all ages! You can see a sneak preview of this years titles here on the Free Comic site, some even have preview pages you can check out! But, please note that not ALL titles that they offer will be available and some will run out faster than others!
What is Free Comic Book Day? This is the one day a year where the comics community comes together to attempt to share the love and joy of comics with the world! It is about getting awesome kids into reading comics for the first time and helping diehard comic enthusiasts find something new to enjoy! Please join us, it will be a blast!
At our main headquarters in Lauderhill only:
In addition to free comics for everyone, we’ll have an “artist alley” with local comic book creators & artists from 10am-5pm.
Plus… TATE’S comic+graphic novel pop-up shop, featuring special big discounts! Food trucks out front too if you get hungry!
Tana Ford is a comic book artist perhaps best known for her work on MARVEL’s Silk. She has also done work on The Amazing Spider-Man, Gwenpool, VenomVerse: Black Panther (where she got to create a *NEW* Black Panther character UZARU), New Warriors and Guardians of the Galaxy. From iDW she drew JEM and the HOLOGRAMS (Dimensions #1) and STAR TREK (#15).
Her new project LAGUARDIA has her teamed up with superstar writer Nnedi Okorafor (Hugo, Nebula, World Fantasy Award winner) to create a world where aliens have arrived and become Earthlings – not colonizers, exterminators or slaves. Issue #01 hits shelves December 5th!
Tana will be visiting our Boynton Beach location on Wednesday, December 5th from 4-6pm to sign comics, draw sketches and talk comics and the industry to everyone who wishes to attend! Come out TATE’S on Wednesday afternoon and support a local comic book artist who is doing some great stuff!
