April 6, 2018: IDW Writers SigningJohn Barber, Mike Johnson, David Mariotte, and Tom Waltz, writers of the popular comics such as Star Trek, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Transformers, and Hanazuki, appear at the San Diego Comic Art Gallery on Friday, April 6th. They will be signing comics and answering questions about your favorite characters and what it’s like to be a comic book writer, between 6:00 and 7:00 PM.
Oct. 27, 2017: Crossover: Where Comics and Science MeetJoin IDW Publishing and the Fleet Science Center for an event that will look at the art, science and technology featured in some of our favorite comics.This month we explore Infectious Diseases with Steve Niles, creator and writer of 30 Days of Night on Friday, October 27th at 6:30 PM.

– Jonathan Maberry, New York Times Bestselling Author and Creator of @V-Wars
– Dr. Joy Phillips, Research Associate Professor of Immunology, The – Donald P. Shiley BioScience Center, SDSU

Cost: $15 per event. Tickets include two beers from a local brewery and one comic book from IDW. NOTE: 21+ ONLY! IDs will be checked at the door.
June 2, 2017: Usagi Yojimbo ExhibitionThe San Diego Comic Art Gallery is excited to announce Stan Sakai, creator of Usagi Yojimbo, and Kevin Eastman, co-creator of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, will appear on Friday, June 2nd at 6:30 PM! We’ll have original Usagi Yojimbo art spanning the last three decades on display including some pages from the upcoming Usagi Yojimbo/TMNT mini-series from IDW Publishing!
Feel free to bring in your books and collectibles from home to get signed, but please keep it to five outside items. We will have a bunch of stuff for sale in the Gallery store for Stan & Kevin to sign as well.
April 7, 2017: Star Wars Artist Edition SigningHoward Chaykin appears at the San Diego Comic Art Gallery on Friday, April 7th.
With a career that spans over 40 years, Chaykin has worked on some of the most beloved characters in comics, such as “Batman” and “The Avengers”, and has created some of the most well respected original material, like “American Flagg” and “Black Kiss”. However, nothing in pop culture will ever be as big as “Star Wars” and Chaykin was the first artist to work on the comics. We couldn’t be more excited to have him back here at the Gallery.
Howard will be signing from 6-8. We’ll have plenty of IDW Publishing’s “Star Wars” Artifact Editions on hand for sale as well as “Star Wars” Micro Fun-Packs for you to get signed. Outside items are allowed but please keep them limited to five.
