While Madoka continues to deliberate over the decision to join Akemi as a Puella Magi, her best friend, Sayaka, seizes the chance to wish for the recovery of the boy she loves after he was injured in an accident. But being a Puella Magi is more than a simple matter of wielding magic and fighting evil, and Sayaka is soon caught in a territory dispute with a more experienced (and more deadly) Puella Magi named Kyouko.
