Street-smart and smooth talking, Nick Gautier is confident he has nothing to fear on the mean streets of New Orleans. But he couldn't be more wrong. When his friends turn on him, the mysterious Kyrian of Thrace who introduces Nick to a frightening supernatural world - the realm of the Dark-Hunters - saves Nick. He quickly learns that life is not quite so normal as it seemed: the football teams' captain is a werewolf; his crush spends her evenings hunting the undead, and his classmates are being turned into zombies. It's a lot for a guy to take in, but even more troubling are the dark whispers about Nick's future.
