May 2, 2015: COMICS CREATORS/MODELS UNITE FOR FREE COMIC BOOK DAY

Worldwide Free Comic Book Day Comes to Allentown with Comics for All Ages and a Great Array of Creators!

On Saturday, May 2, just in time for the release of the blockbuster movie, Avengers: Age Of Ultron, two comics creators will appear at Beachead Comics, in Allentown as part of the 14th annual Free Comic Book Day. Writer Bill Spangler (Tom Corbett: Space Cadet, Robotech/Voltron, Quantum Leap, AlienNation, and X-Pose Magazine), will be autographing copies of a new reprint of his adaptation of H.G. Wells’ Time Machine. Also attending will be members of Models and Mayhem, an alternative modeling troupe, as well as artists and designers who work with them.

Models and Mayhem is creating an exciting compilation of comic fans’ favorite characters portrayed by sexy and glamourous ladies. With their diverse group of models, ranging from the tattooed maven Miss Elizabeth Ann, to the sultry redhead Michelle Dannie Wolf, to the blonde bombshell Emvi Bardot, each comic fan will find their favorite lady in costume to pin up on the wall for 2015. Photos with the models will be welcomed.

All will sign autographs, and talk with patrons and aspiring writers and artists. (Not all of these creators will attend throughout this event. Please call for scheduled times for appearances)

Beachead Comics is one of thousands of comic book shops around the world celebrating the comic book art form on Saturday, May 2nd. On Free Comic Book Day, over two million comic books will be given away by participating stores, introducing as many people as possible to the wonders of comic books!

Now in its fourteenth year, Free Comic Book Day has proven to be a smashing success, spreading the word that comics are terrific reading. “Even if you have never picked up a comic book, stop into Beachead Comics, because you never know what you will end up finding”, said Jeff, Proprietor of Beachead Comics.

"We at Beachead Comics want to spread the word that comics are alive and well in 2015," Jeff continued. "Comic books and graphic novels are considered hip, hot and smart. Comic Books have been propelled to the front ranks of pop culture, many being adapted into movies. The first weekend of May is going to be a big day in the comic book world. Avengers: Age Of Ultron (based on the popular Marvel Comics characters) opens in theatres on Friday, May 1, and Beachead Comics will have comics featuring The Avengers (as well as many other characters) to give away for Free Comic Book Day.
