Free comic book day!!! Because who doesn't love free comics?? Free Comic Book Day is a great day to introduce a friend to comics, try comics yourself, or try some new genres or titles! We will have lots of titles to choose from! This year we are super excited to be holding Free Comic Book Day in 2 locations: both at our Old Quebec Street store, and our new store at Gordon & Kortright! Be one of the first 50 in line at either store and take home one of a selection of free trades and hardcovers.
Looking to be where all the action is? Our downtown location is going to have all kinds of events happening! There will be face-painting beginning at 10, a colouring corner for kids, and a backdrop for photos. There will also be some special appearances from superheroes, so keep your eyes open for that!
Finally, Jenn is going to be bringing in her entire comics collection to sell. Looking for older comics or backissues? Head downtown on FCBD and take a look through Jenn's extensive collection!
Looking for a quieter, more traditional Free Comic Book Day experience? Check out our Gordon & Kortright location. We will still have lots of free comics and costumed staff, but with a more relaxed environment!
Big news!!! Creators Jeff Lemire (Royal City, Secret Path, AD After Death) and Ray Fawkes (Underwinter, Intersect, Batman Eternal) will be signing at our downtown location Wednesday, March 22 from 4-6PM! Yes, that's next Wednesday!! We are so excited!!!
Come join us this Saturday for Doctor Who Comics Day!
Guest: Dennis O'Neil
Legendary comic book creator and Hero Initiative spokesperson Denny O’Neil is coming to The Dragon on May 21st!
The purpose of this special event is to raise money for the Hero Initiative, which provides a financial safety net for yesterdays’ creators who may need emergency medical aid, financial support for essentials of life, and an avenue back into paying work.
Starting at 2:00 PM, Denny will participate in an in-store signing event, with special guest Ty Templeton. CGC signature series is an option for this event. Autograph fee of $20 for CGC purposes. $10 for all other signatures, and Ty will be sketching. We will have lots of stories that Denny worked on available, and anything bought from The Dragon that day we will provide 10% to Hero Initiative.
In the evening we really kick it up a notch! We will be hosting a party with Denny! Denny will be interviewed by Ty about his long history in comics, and afterwards we will have a meet & greet with the pros. Limited capacity for this event! Tickets will be available at The Dragon.
Seriously, you need to be here and help us raise money for a hugely important cause.
