March 22, 2014: Hellboy DayMarch 22 marks the twentieth anniversary of Mike Mignola's career-defining release of Hellboy: Seed of Destruction #1. After the character's somewhat humble beginnings in an eight-page feature in Dark Horse's San Diego Comic-Con Comics special, Seed of Destruction would begin the long life of the beloved "beast of the apocalypse."
In December, Dark Horse declared that March 22, 2014, would be Hellboy Day, with events happening in comic shops around the world!

Larry Hama
If you have fond memories of G.I. Joe, you have Larry Hama to thank. His work as the writer of the Marvel comic series from the '80's and his return to the IDW title in 2010 is widely considered the defacto incarnation of the beloved characters. His influence on the world of G.I. Joe runs even deeper than that, having been responsible for most of the profile cards found on the back of the original 80's toys. Mr. Hama has been so integral to G.I. Joe, Hasbro even modeled the Tunnel Rat action figure after his likeness. As incredible as all of that is, his accomplishments don't end there; he's had runs on virtually every big Marvel comic out there, from Avengers to X-Men. Hama is also the creator of Bucky O'Hare, the green space-faring rabbit who starred in his own TV show, toy line, and video game.Mr. Hama will be here to sign autographs and meet with fans on Saturday May 5th.
