May 4, 2024: Bobby Rubio Signing

Artist/Animator BOBBY RUBIO is scheduled to sign at Flying Colors on Saturday May 4th for Free Comic Book Day!

Bobby Rubio is a highly accomplished Animation Artist with work for Pixar, Disney, Nickelodeon and Paramount Animation. He is currently the Story Supervisor on Transformers One for Paramount Animation.

Among Bobby’s notable projects are the Peabody-nominated animated Pixar short “Float” for which he was the Writer and Director. He served as Story Artist on Inside Out, Up, Incredibles 2, and Brave. For Avatar: The Last Airbender at Nickelodeon, Bobby was an Assistant Director and Storyboard Artist. At Disney, Bobby was a Traditional Animator on Treasure Planet.

With all of that, Bobby’s first love was always comic books! His favorite comics were NEW TEEN TITANS and X-MEN. His all-time favorite artist is George Perez.

After graduating from CALARTS with a BFA in Animation, Bobby interned with Jim Lee at Wildstorm Studios. Even though he’s mostly doing Animation work, Bobby still tries to keep his childhood comic book dreams alive, doing artwork for Marvel Comics, Dark Horse Comics and Image Comics.

Bobby has also created his own independent comics Alcatraz High, 4 Gun Conclusion, and his latest title Neighborhood Legend coming soon!

March 6, 2024: X-O Manowar Signing

Artist/Writer Liam Sharp (X-O Manowar, Starhenge, Wonder Woman) signs at Flying Colors Comics on Wednesday, March 6th from 11am – 1pm. Thanks to our friends at Alien Books/Valiant Comics we will have a limited number of FREE copies of X-O MANOWAR for Liam to sign for you.

Feb. 11, 2024: Amulet: Waverider Signing

Creator Kazu Kibuishi appears at Flying Colors Comics on Sunday, February 11th from 3-5pm to sign the final volume in the Amulet series WAVERIDER.

Sept. 28, 2023: Dr. Strange: Fall Sunrise Signing

Flying Colors welcomes artist TRADD MOORE on Thursday, September 28th from 4PM-6PM.

Tradd is the artist of Marvel Comics’ Doctor Strange Fall Sunrise and Silver Surfer Black, as well as the Luther Strode series from Image Comics.

July 12, 2023: Flying Colors Comics Triple Signing

Thien Pham (FAMILY STYLE), Gene Luen Yang (AGENTS OF SMASH) and Briana Loewinsohn (EPHEMERA) will sign at Flying Colors Comics on Wednesday, July 12th at 3pm.
