May 4, 2013: Free Comic Book Day

It's that time of year again... The time of year for free comics! Free Comic Book Day is a yearly event where shops from all over the world give away free comic books to anyone and everyone that makes the trip to their local shop. The event is always held on the first Saturday in May( May 4th this year). We will have multiple tables with a wide range of free books to choose from, local writters and artists signing and doing sketches and a store wide sale. Store hours for this day are 10am till Midnight. The free comics and sale will run till midnight but the creators will call it a night earlier.

Guests include:

The sale will be Buy One get One 50% off any item of equal or less value. This applies to most everything in the store and can mix and match items. Some exceptions, but not limited to, would be pull boxes, special orders and magic singles.

---- The amount we will have available of each book will be based on popularity. Example: Marvel and DC books will have a substantial more available than "The Smurfs". We also do not order every book available due to some being very obscure or cause we don't carry the book normally. If there is a book(s) that you wanted and we aren't getting, let us know and we will try to special order it.

May 5, 2012: Free Comic Book Day Signings

May 5th (Cinco de Mayo) will be an eventful day out here at Comic World & Games. We will have select tables full of Free Comic Books for you, your child, or your grandparents to choose from. Ranging from D.C. and Marvel to Zenescope.

Local Comic Writers Jeff Dyer(Every Waking Moment), Ryan Schrodt(Matinee Eclectica & Web comic Dear Dinosaur) and Local Artist Steve Ott(Every Waking Moment) will be here with their creations signing books and doing sketches!

And we will do a sale for this event too. We will have a Buy 1 get 1 50% off sale! Almost everything in the shop will be included in the sale(will be some restrictions, pretty much the normals ones).

Last but not least will also be the release tournament for Avacyn Restored. Sealed deck at 1pm, $25 entry 6 boosters of the new set to make a deck with and play a tournament with. Each entry will get a foil promo card from the new set and everyone will get atleast one extra pack no matter what place you come in(higher you finish, the more boosters you get). Followed by a Booster Draft starting around 5pm. Booster boxes of the set will also be available for $94.99 and comes with a buy the box promo foil card(sorry, box price does not work with sale).
